Ended Stake - Final Results.

I ended the stake today which was mutually beneficial to both the staker and the stakee. Originally I wanted to do the stake as a platform for low stress to try and move up in the limits to NL($4) and beyond. However, I can't handle the swings (insert lame Rounders joke here), so I am going to stick the the low limits NL($2) and below and play on my own dime.

Here is a screenshot of the final results of the stake from Nov.10-Dec.29. We each made ~$2500 under the arrangment which is a great ROI for the staker (which is something like 400% annualized ... I would be curious if his other staking investments are similarly successful). There was a very small loss in the last week, of which I sent him back 50% of the loss.
During this process I learned 3 very valuable things.
1) I am not cut out for playing higher stakes.
2) The importance of game selection.
3) The negative affects of playing too many tables.
I will start the new year fresh and hopefully these lessons will help it be my best poker year yet.

NoMoVodka 5-draw cheat.

3 times this bastard drew 3 and made a full house to beat my straight, flush, and full house.

He has made countless other suckouts as well not worth detailing. I think he is up about $500+ on me in ring, and I have won about $350 from him in SNGs, but we are done.

Oops.

Here is me stacking myself with 10 outs (23% equity).

In hindsight putting $440 into a $25 pot with effectively the 3rd best hand (the 4th, but 63 is very unlikely) wasn't a good idea. When he raised my turn bet, I thought lower sets and lots of semi-bluffs were likely, but when he shoved at that point I felt pot committed.

Stake Results (Week 7).

Week 7 was low volume yet again ... sounds like a broken record ... but, the upside was a great winrate! Outside of the stake, I got crushed in heads-up to some serious BS to the tune of about $1,500+. I made that up with some minor shot taking and in Sit & Gos. I also wasted $215 on an MTT (24 players) this week (it looked to have about 100% overlay, 30 minutes in and I joined, but then 10 other people joined, during the stupid hour long late registration and the overlay was gone). My results have been so good on the stake, but not so much elsewhere. I wonder if it is psychological, good luck, or if I am just screwing myself out of money?

Week 7: $872.90 profit each (2,177 hands, 8 hrs)

Stake Results (Week 6).

Again there was low volume in Week 6. Was for a different reason this week as I played alot of PLO (am finally a winner in that game), and spent many hours on 5-card draw HU S&Gs and 5-card draw HU ring. The regulars all avoid each other, but I think they are all bad except for 1 or 2 so I play them all. Most of them now sit out vs me, but I can still join their S&Gs when they wait for fish. Another week, another profit on the stake, so that is good. I should get more volume in the next 2 weeks (3-day work weeks due to the holidays).

Week 6: $543.45 profit each (1,574 hands, 5 hrs)
Week 5: $252.30 profit each (1,280 hands, 4 hrs)

Stake Results (Week 4).

Week 4 was volatile. I started the week with my best day ever, then I had back to back days with losses of $1k+ (when including non-staking results). I then regrouped the next 3 days which includes today. I plan to come back refreshed tomorrow. One part of the success in poker is dealing with the inevitible losses. No one can play without losing. I still need to work on this part of my game. I also will be very busy at work the next week, so volume may be low.

Week 4: $5.15 profit each (2,132 hands, 7 hrs)
------: $354.95 makeup achieved
Week 3: $354.95 loss makeup (17,308 hands, 28 hrs)
