Decent July Results.

After complaining about running bad for ~3 weeks straight, I actually ended up with decent results in my largest volume month ever.

I played ~169,000 hands (162k NLHE, 4k micros, 1k S&G, 1k MTT, 1k non HE) and netted ~$5,000 after including everything.

I also got a new computer this month and am using PokerTracker 3 instead of PokerTracker 2 + Realtime HUD. I am still having issues with timeout cascades when playing 24 fast tables (I was glad I was playing micros when I timed out with the nuts in a pot I would have tripled up when I already put most of my stack in ... $15 oh well). I would appreciate any suggestions about this and/or AHK scripts to help with this.

Lots is going through my mind these days about life changes as I think about (1) quitting my job, (2) getting another house and living part of the year in Vegas (not really for poker, but for managing rental properties and there is no state tax), (3) the problems with my rental property eviction, etc.

All tableratings green.

I finally got all my tableratings public statistics to be green.
Even though it is incomplete data and only NL($1) and above, I had been trying to get each limit to be green and I finally achieved it.

In the meantime I have been playing NL($0.02) to try to get acclimated to my new computer and get it configured properly.

For the amount I complain ...

For the amount I have been complaining this month you would think I was losing horribly. I am sore about the $1500+ in allin EV. However, I really I am doing ok (+$3100) this month, but I expected more during my largest volume month ever.

+$500 Omaha
+$300 Tourneys
+$900 Ring
+$1400 FPPs

The real underlying cause of my massive anger and angst is not poker or the allin EV, but due to the fact that I am going through the eviction process on my tenant after only 2 months of him being in the property.
I hope a proper state of mind returns after this is resolved.

Some NL25 for 3 days.

I played some full ring NL($0.25) for a few days. First I lost ~$200 with some massive tilt in about 1 hour. Then I mostly played a push/fold preflop game with a $5 stack for ~10k hands.

Hard way to make an easy living.

Should I expect allin EV to be anything different than at the other limits? ... "Only" -$67.

-1898 now ... quit soon?

After some more losing with AAvJJ allin on Q8x boards etc. I am at -1898 in allin EV. I need 15k more VPPs to get the 200k milestone, but I am not sure if I will make it. As much as I want that $1200, I may have to quit for good before that. What is happening is just not believable at all.

1557.

Hard to play when you get allin on the flop with top set and know you are going to lose.

Who knows how many buyins that is since it is a mix of different limits and different stack sizes. If we estimate that the average allin is $50, that is 31 buyins.

When is it enough?

5 big losers of the hour. It hardly seems real.
set over set. (half stack)
AAvTT AIPF. (full stack, river running straight)
KKvTT allin on 655 flop. (full stack, river running flush)
QQvA4 allin on 527 flop. (full stack, river running flush)
AAvKK AIPF. (80BB stack, river K)

4 huge river drawouts for -$620 of allin EV in 1 hour?
Then some donk donates a full stack to me at NL($2), and then my internet crashes 10 minutes later, ending my session.

I am having trouble believing what is going on is legit.
120k hands of NLHE for $40?
The massive BS seems to happen in waves.

I wanted to see how much has been stolen from me this month.
Seems like at least $1365 has been stolen ... impossible to calculate the real total, only the amount we can see from the allin EV.

This hand bugged me.

The guy is a 19/16 regular.
Why is he calling $14 more preflop with ATo OOP?
Why is he calling $15 more on the turn (even getting 5.5-1, when he is at best at 10-1 dog)?
Why is this the 2nd time he stacked me for a full stack as a 10-1 dog?

Jedi Mind Tricks.

"I was gonnna rip his heart out, I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and most vicious and most ruthless champion there's ever been. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable. And I'm just ferocious, I want your heart! I wanna eat your children, praise be to Allah!" -Mike Tyson

The entire albums (Violent by Design, Visions of Ghandi) are good.

This is how I have been playing poker lately, with intense aggression and not enough thinking. The WSOP ME is wrapping up, and in the back of my mind I desire to be a champion (but not in practice).

24-tabling (6-max).

I did some 24-tabling of NL($0.50)(6-max) today, and got 10k hands in 6.5 hours. I averaged 1550 hands/hour, over 4 sessions, with an MT ratio of 21.5. I am practicing to get my future vengeance at NL($1)(6-max) where I am down a whopping $1300 this month.

Here are the NLHE ring games this month so far (73k hands, 65 hrs).
My only consolation is the $100 MTTs, $500 PLO, and $1300 FPPs.
An aggregate $23/hr is not worth it, but it feeds the addiction.

Recovery day!

I had a nice recovery today to turn the month around. PokerStars thought I was playing great too, as I got my first bot-check since playing there for 4 years. It brought up a prompt on all 24 of my tables, and had me type the word it displayed. It broke my concentration and probably cost me $20.

Here is a super-suspicious hand history. Look at his flop call of the raise with no pair, no draw, and no overcards, then he does some weird disconection thing on the turn before calling allin and hitting his 8 outer. Awful July so far.

Unfortunately this is my sixth negative post in a row in July. I can't seem to win at the NL($1) level at all. I have to break from it, because if I get allin again for a full stack with a big pair vs a small pair and lose I will punch a hole in my monitor. I also just lost 3 flips in a row for full stacks at NL($1) (6-max). AKvJJ, 99vAK, QQvAK.
Cremated at ring games: -$1,300
Short PLO session: +$500
MTTs: +$100
FPP value: +$900
When I type it like that it doesn't seem as bad, but looking at those NL($1) losses makes me want to puke.

Fate says no poker?

Monday: internet connection was out all day. Spent over 1 hour on the phone with tech support. They finally decided to send a technician Wednesday.

Tuesday: internet magically started working. Tried to start some sessions a couple of times and then all of a sudden my 30" Samsung monitor went black. I am going to run anti-virus stuff now, however, it could be 1) virus, 2) bad monitor, 3) bad video card, 4) overheating computer, 5) loose connection inside? ... I have no idea I am not proficient in this. I don't think it is the monitor because the self-test thing is working fine when it is not plugged into the computer.

I was all set to play good and try to recover from those two brutal days (Saturday/Sunday).

Worst day ever.

I had my worst day ever at my normal limits NL($1).
This excludes the 2 times I took shots NL($50) and $30/$60 HL Stud.

Lost $825 over 16,200 hands and was $700 below allin EV.
I already mentioned the 5 set over sets.

It was extremely painful. Normally I should win about $500 over this many hands with KK. However, AK seemed to be a favorite over KK today, and was up against AA many times too.
Probably need some time off, after two full days of nonsense.

What's wrong?

Oversetted 5 times in 2 days vs. the pfr for my stack (not really reflected in the graph below).
Top set losing to flush draw, backdoor straight etc. every time.
Overpair getting drawn out on.
Never hitting anything when I am behind.
Losing flips.
2 bad tilt plays A3svTT AIPF, QQvAA AIPF.

$650 below EV in 10,000 hands.
$1,000 downswing (10 buyins).

Considering cashing out, moving down, etc.

OMFG BS session.

I had a few deep runs in some MTTs this morning, bubbled the NLO8 very crazily, the bubble lasted about 20 minutes, with about 15 allin survivals, then the first time I am allin with AA56 vs KQxx, I lose. I did not make much in the MTTs either & they took forever.

Here is a quick 30 minutes of pain!

I lost some others, but this is a bit silly for 30 minutes!

Lesson, don't play KK or 33 after going deep in tournaments. I can make this conclusion because I have a logical mind.
